GRADUATE INTERNSHIP FOR TRANSLATORS
Our contribution to fostering the up-and-coming generation of translators consists of a six-month internship for graduates of the various universities and institutes of higher education for translators and interpreters in the relevant language combinations. The internship begins with an introduction to the company's organisational structure, philosophy and the quality management system according to the current standard ISO EN 9001:2000, which applies to all areas of work in a translation company.
In addition to familiarisation with the hardware and software most frequently used in the translation and customer service departments, an introduction is given in the complete order processing system from start to finish. This comprises initial customer contact, filing orders, planning orders, filing orders, project management and despatching the translation jobs.
In the quality management department we provide an introduction to quality control, documented procedures and work instructions in the areas of order administration, translation and quality control, as well as documentation to ensure traceability of orders and assessment of individual translators.
With regard to practical translation work itself, the emphasis is put on terminology research in various databases and on the Internet, translation of different types of text, proofreading and localisation work (using translation tools and other utilities), assessment of proof-read texts and reworking translations.
The objective is to give you a comprehensive insight into the everyday work of the translator in the context of a translation company operating a quality management system.
If you take up a work placement with us, you will receive appropriate remuneration for your work.
We endeavour to offer interns further employment at our firm if they are suitable.
